County Health Department Employee Promotes ICE Evasion
During the June 17, 2025 meeting of the Manitowoc County Board of Supervisors, MCP founder Brayden Myer revealed a recent email forwarded to the entirety of the County Health Department by public health nurse Gina Phillips. Below is his speech along with the public email.
Recently, the entirety of the county health department received an email from one of their employees. This was an email promoting an event from the extremely partisan League of Women Voters on immigration. This was sent from them to an employee of Lakeshore Cap who used her work email to forward it to this county health department employee. This email also contained a document from an organization committed to assisting illegal aliens, which are criminals, get away with illegally residing in the United States, providing tips on how to do so.
One of the recipients of this email was the director of the county health department. After receiving this email, the director made the decision not to take any action.
This is unprofessional, unethical, and unacceptable for public employees to be encouraging others to break the law. That employee also used a taxpayer-funded email during work time to distribute this document. That person should no longer be employed by the county, and the department director should face repercussions for inaction.
To those who do not see a problem with this because they agree with what was emailed, let’s say the situation was reversed. If all factors were the same except the document was about capturing illegal aliens and promoting an event on that, they would not let that go. They would make sure the media is aware and that person gets fired. That’s how they operate the institutions they control. I am sure if an employee received this and knew this was not ok to do, they couldn’t contact anyone because they don’t want to be harassed by the radical left.
Whatever your viewpoints are, a public job is not the place to bring your partisan political beliefs. You are there to serve the public, not your own agenda.
I hope discussion occurs within the department and any other departments necessary to discuss this with. I also hope this topic doesn’t disappear after tonight. If you let this happen, what other rules are public employees going to be allowed to break? What other misuses of their position and public resources will occur? Please do the right thing and let the parties involved know there are consequences for their actions.
